Vol. 6 No. 37

CEISTEANNA—QUESTIONS. ORAL ANSWERS. - CO. MEATH INTERNEE.

asked the Minister for Defence whether Mr. Hugh Malone, No. 4383, Hut 5, Camp 3, Tintown, Curragh, who was arrested on the 18th February, 1923, at Cloughrea, Drumcondrath, Co. Meath, has been tried or sentenced, and, if so, what was the nature of the charge and terms of sentence; whether he is aware that the relatives of the prisoner forwarded parcels to him about the 22nd December, 1923, and that same were returned, with a note stating that the prisoner was released, and that since that date the prisoner has not been heard of by his relatives, and whether he is in a position to state whether Malone is still in custody.

Mr. Hugh Malone has not been tried or sentenced. I am not aware except from the Deputy's statement that parcels forwarded to this prisoner by his relatives about the 22nd December, 1923, were returned with a note that he had been released. The prisoner was removed from Tintown to Hare Park Internment Camp on the 1st January, 1924, where he is still detained.
