Vol. 7 No. 15

CEISTEANNA—QUESTIONS. ORAL ANSWERS. - INTERNATIONAL EXHIBITION.

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce whether an invitation has been received from the French Government to participate in the International Exhibition which is to be held in Paris next year; whether he is aware that this will be the principal exhibition in 1925, and that nearly all countries intend to participate, and whether he will take steps to see that the Saorstát is adequately represented.

Mr. HOGAN (replying)

An invitation has been received to participate in this exhibition, but the estimated cost of participation renders it doubtful whether without very substantial support the invitation can be accepted. If it appears that a sufficient number of firms engaged in the decorative industries would be prepared to participate in a representative display and to bear their share of the expenses the necessary arrangements could be made.

Arising out of that answer, the Minister is probably not aware that the last day for sending in acceptances is next Saturday, and I do not see how this information can be obtained by them.

Mr. HOGAN

I was not aware of that.
