Vol. 7 No. 16

CEISTEANNA—QUESTIONS. ORAL ANSWERS. - THE BOUNDARY COMMISSION.

asked the President if he can state whether a Chairman of the Boundary Commission has yet been suggested or appointed by the British Government; whether it is intended to enter into further negotiations with the Northern Government prior to the setting up of the Boundary Commission.

We understand that the British Government is taking active steps for the appointment of a Chairman of the Boundary Commission.

In answer to the second part of the question, the Government have made it quite clear that they are at all times ready to enter into a conference to arrive at a settlement, in due accord with the wishes of the inhabitants, which would be ratified by the Boundary Commission.
