Vol. 7 No. 25

CEISTEANNA—QUESTIONS. ORAL ANSWERS. - ROSCOMMON DOCTOR'S CLAIM.

asked the Minister for Defence if he is aware that payment of a claim by Dr. John Rogers. Ballyfarnon, for professional attendance on National Forces has been refused on the plea that these services were not rendered under the authority of any responsible officer, and if he will have this claim reinvestigated with a view to having payment made.

Without being requested to do so by a responsible officer, Dr. Rogers attended professionally to soldiers who visited him of their own volition and unnecessarily, having regard to the fact that a Military Medical Officer was available to look after them. In the circumstances, I regret that we are unable to entertain the claim of Dr. Rogers, who was informed that he should refer to the soldiers concerned for payment.
