Vol. 8 No. 4

CEISTEANNA—QUESTIONS. ORAL ANSWERS. - APPEAL AGAINST OLD AGE PENSION.

asked the Minister for Local Government and Public Health if he is aware that Patrick Mullan, Tulnabrathy, Clonmany, Co. Donegal, was granted an old age pension by the Local Committee in March last, and if he can state the grounds of appeal from the Committee's decision by the Buncrana Pensions Officer.

This case has not come to me on appeal. I have no functions in regard to it. I have, however, made inquiries, and I understand that the Pension Officer's report upon a fresh claim made was sent to the local Pension Sub-Committee on the 23rd ultimo, and presumably it has not yet been dealt with by them.

Is the Minister aware that Mullan obtained and produced a birth certificate from the Catholic Church, Boston, U.S.A., where he was baptized, and it shows that he is the required age?

It has not come before me yet.

Will you make inquiries?
