Vol. 8 No. 9

CEISTEANNA—QUESTIONS. ORAL ANSWERS. - TIPPERARY OLD AGE PENSION CLAIM.

DOMHNALL O MUIRGHEASA

asked the Minister for Local Government and Public Health if he will state why the old age pension of R. Teefy, Coosane, Birdhill, Co. Tipperary, has been reduced by three shillings per week.

This case has not been before me since 26th January, 1923, when the claimant's pension was reduced from 10/- to 8/- a week.

In accordance with the provisions of the Old Age Pensions Act, 1924, a reduction of one shilling a week (with the exceptions specified in the Act) has been made in old age pensions which were being paid prior to 20th June, 1924, pending a readjustment on the basis of the newly established scale which will take effect in the case of such pensions from the 5th September, 1924.
