WRITTEN ANSWERS. - CLAIM FOR PROFICIENCY PAY.

DOMHNALL O MUIRGHEASA

asked the Minister for Defence whether he is aware that proficiency pay for three weeks and four days is due to William Maher, Connolly Street, Nenagh, ex-Sergeant, National Army, who was discharged on December 21st, 1923; and if he will arrange to have payment made without delay.

Additional pay for the period from the 25th November, 1923, to the 19th December, 1923, was withheld from Mr. Maher as a set off against an over-payment of £4 16s. 0d. which has been made to his wife in respect of dependents' allowance. Mr. Maher was discharged on the 16th January, 1924.
