Vol. 9 No. 26

CEISTEANNA—QUESTIONS. ORAL ANSWERS. - WEXFORD MERCHANT'S CLAIM AGAINST ARMY.

asked the Minister for Defence if he has received applications from Mr. Wm. Foley, Newbawn, Co. Wexford, for an amount of £17 2s. 0d. due for goods supplied to troops during the months of February, March and April, 1923, and if he will state when it is proposed to pay same.

Applications do not appear to have been received in the Department of Defence from Mr. Foley for the amount mentioned. An account for £9 7s. 0d. in respect of the billeting of troops during the period mentioned was received from him. It was assessed on authorised rates at £7 2s. 0d., and payment of this sum was made on the 31st March last. Claims for £3 3s. 10d. in respect of personal debts contracted by soldiers, and for £6 in respect of stolen articles were necessarily disallowed.
