Applications do not appear to have been received in the Department of Defence from Mr. Foley for the amount mentioned. An account for £9 7s. 0d. in respect of the billeting of troops during the period mentioned was received from him. It was assessed on authorised rates at £7 2s. 0d., and payment of this sum was made on the 31st March last. Claims for £3 3s. 10d. in respect of personal debts contracted by soldiers, and for £6 in respect of stolen articles were necessarily disallowed.
