CEISTEANNA—QUESTIONS. ORAL ANSWERS. - MILITARY SERVICE PENSIONS ACT—POSITION OF IRISH VOLUNTEERS.

asked the Minister for Defence if members of the Irish Volunteers who took part in the Anglo-Irish war in April, 1916, or in the period from 1920 to July, 1921, but who did not, although supporters of the State, serve in the National Defence Forces of Saorstát Eireann, are not entitled to any pension under the Military Service Pensions Act, 1924, and, if not, if it is proposed to give such men's claims recognition in any other way.

The Volunteers in question are not entitled to pensions under the terms of the Military Service Pensions Act, 1924, and it is not proposed to make any financial provision in their cases.
