Vol. 10 No. 19

CEISTEANNA—QUESTIONS. ORAL ANSWERS. - REPAIRING OF FORT BRIDGE (COUNTY LIMERICK).

asked the Minister for Local Government and Public Health whether he is aware of the hardship and inconvenience caused to the people of Colman's Well, County Limerick, and the surrounding district, owing to the delay of the Limerick County Council in repairing the Fort Bridge, and whether he is aware that the Co-operative Creamery in that district will be obliged to shut down, as seven-eighths of the milk supply is transported over that bridge, and whether he will urge the County Council to expedite the repair of the bridge.

Representations have already been made to me to the effect contained in the first and second parts of the question. The Deputy will remember that I sent him, on the 29th October last, a copy of a report received from the County Surveyor for East Limerick on the subject. I will again bring the matter specially under the notice of the County Council. A payment of, approximately, £10,000 is about to be made to the council in respect of money expended on the repair of bridges, and I have no doubt that the council will accordingly expedite the work of repairing the remaining bridges.
