asked the Minister for Finance whether a resolution has been received from the Galway Urban District Council calling attention to the necessity for proceeding immediately with the complete reconstruction of the Gárda Síochána Barracks at Eglinton Street, and, if he will state what action has been taken, or is intended to be taken, with regard to this matter.

The resolution from the Urban District Council has been received. Part of the barrack has already been restored, and the rebuilding of another portion is at present in hands. The question of reconstructing such further portions as are necessary for the requirements of the Gárda Síochána is being considered.
