Vol. 12 No. 18

CEISTEANNA—QUESTIONS. ORAL ANSWERS. - DETENTION OF GOODS BY CUSTOMS AUTHORITIES.

asked the Minister for Finance if he can state whether a consignment of goods forwarded by Messrs. Ryland and Sons, Wood Street, London, to Messrs. A.M. O'Farrell and Son, Naas, Co. Kildare, and dispatched on May 26th, 1925, has been held up by the Customs authorities, and, if so, if he will state how long it has been so detained.

Inquiries have been made, but from the information given by the Deputy, it has not been found possible to trace this consignment as being detained in Customs charge. If the Deputy will indicate the method by which the goods were forwarded, i.e., whether by parcel post or by carrying company, and in the latter case, the name of the company concerned, the matter will be further investigated.
