Arrangements have been under consideration to enable pupils of the Preparatory Colleges in Irish-speaking districts to take advantage of the existing facilities for coming into touch with the living language and tradition of the Gaeltacht in which the college is situate. Up to the present there has been one college in operation in an Irish-speaking district, and that only for a few months. A second college in an Irish-speaking district is now being opened. The matter is being taken up with the manager and conductors of each of these colleges. It is hoped that it will be possible to have arrangements made which will enable groups of students, in the course of their walks, to come in touch with the life of the district in the vicinity, and, by arranging for reunions, to bring the college, as a whole, into close contact with the people of the district.
