Vol. 21 No. 3

WRITTEN ANSWERS. - UNEMPLOYMENT INSURANCE CLAIM (CO. ROSCOMMON).

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce whether he will state the reason for refusing to pay unemployment insurance benefit to Michael Guihen, Gubberudda, Arigna, Co. Roscommon, who lodged his claim with the Sligo Labour Exchange.

A claim to unemployment benefit made by Mr. Michael Guihen, of Gubberudda, Arigna, Co. Roscommon, on the 8th July last, was disallowed by the Insurance Officer, on the ground that he was not unemployed and not unable to obtain suitable employment. The claimant was duly notified of the decision and informed of his statutory right of appeal to a Court of Referees within 21 days from the date of the receipt of notification of the Insurance Officer's decision. He has now lodged an appeal, which will be heard by the Court at an early date.
