Vol. 21 No. 8

CEISTEANNA—QUESTIONS. ORAL ANSWERS. - FERBANE BRICK-MAKING INDUSTRY.

asked the Minister for Fisheries if he will, in view of the unemployment consequent on the decline of the brick-making industry in Ferbane, Offaly, make the necessary provision in the estimates and specifications for the erection of houses on the holdings apportioned by the Land Commission to landless men to have these houses, or any such houses erected on other estates in the vicinity of Ferbane by the Land Commission, constructed of brick and stone.

Provided the cost and quality justify it, the specifications for houses being built by the Land Commission in the neighbourhood of Ferbane will provide for the use of local brick and stone.
