Vol. 21 No. 8

CEISTEANNA—QUESTIONS. ORAL ANSWERS. - CO. SLIGO FARMS.

asked the Minister for Fisheries whether it is the intention of the Land Commission to acquire the farm of Mary Kilgallon (deceased), Charles Webber Estate, at Carronaball, Dromard, County Sligo, and whether the Minister will state when it will be sub-divided if taken over.

Forty-five acres of the lands of Carronaball on the Charles Webber Estate Dromard, County Sligo, were purchased by the late Annie Kilgallon and are subject to a land purchase annuity.

The Land Commission is having inquiries made as regards these lands.

asked the Minister for Fisheries if the Land Commission have acquired the Arcumber Ranch (Estate of Basil Phibbs), Riverstown, Co. Sligo, for distribution amongst the landless and uneconomic holders of that district, and if not, is it their intention to acquire it, and if so, can he state when it will be available for distribution.

The question of the acquisition of the lands of Ardcumber, on the Basil Phibbs Estate, Riverstown, Co. Sligo, is being considered by the Land Commission, but it is not possible at present to state when the lands, if acquired, will be available for distribution.

Is the Parliamentary Secretary aware that this ranch has been a subject of agitation for over twenty years; that so far back as 1908 a young man named John Stanson was shot by the R.I.C. while cattle driving on the land with other young men, and will he state if there is any particular reason why the Land Commission have delayed in taking over this farm?

The Schedule of particulars of this estate was lodged only about 12 months ago, and the usual inquiries are being made by the Land Commission with the object of ascertaining which portion of the estate is suitable for distribution amongst congests.
