Vol. 21 No. 12

CEISTEANNA—QUESTIONS. ORAL ANSWERS. - GOVERNMENT FARM, GORMANSTOWN.

asked the Minister for Defence if he will state what are his intentions with regard to the Government Farm at Gormanstown, County Meath; how many acres does it contain; what income is it producing now, and in whose hands is it?

The Government Farm at Gormanstown, Co. Meath, is at present the Headquarters of the Mechanical Transport Corps of the Army. The question of its ultimate disposal has not therefore arisen so far. It contains, approximately, 240 statute acres, of which about 170 acres are let for grazing and tillage. The income receivable in respect of the letting is £226 2s. 5d. per annum, and the present tenants are Messrs. Patrick Sherry and T.K. Shuttleworth. The lettings are made annually by public auctions.
