asked the Minister for Local Government and Public Health whether he is aware that considerably over twelve months ago the Cork County Council agreed (subject to sanction) to make a weekly letting of a small plot of very poor and rocky land attached to the burnt-out Workhouse at Dunmanway, and whether in view of the fact that the land is now being used as a commonage and is rapidly becoming worthless, he will agree to issue sanction to the letting.
WRITTEN ANSWERS. - DUNMANWAY WASTE LAND.
This letting is subject to the provisions of the State Lands Act, 1924. There has been delay in ascertaining a reasonable letting price before bringing a proposal to the Oireachtas. The matter is, however, now being expedited with a view to carrying out the subsequent necessary procedure.
