Vol. 21 No. 15

CEISTEANNA—QUESTIONS. ORAL ANSWERS. - OLD AGE PENSION APPLICATIONS.

asked the Minister for Finance if he will state why the application for an old age pension by Mrs. Mary Desmond, Ringrone, Kinsale, was rejected; if he is aware that this woman is 86 years of age, is blind and always has someone in charge of her, and, further, has to depend for support on her son, who has a family of six children, and if this application will be reconsidered on the production of further evidence in support of the claim.

It is necessary to have local inquiries made in this case. Perhaps the Deputy will be good enough to repeat his question in about ten days' time.

asked the Minister for Finance whether an old age pension was refused to Cornelius McDaid, aged 84 years, of Cruckahenny, County Donegal (Register No. 2444, Innishowen, No.4 Sub-Committee, District Buncrana. Station Moville, number 1418) on the grounds that his yearly means exceed the statutory amount, and if, in view of the fact that this assertion is strongly refuted, he will cause further inquiries to be made into this claim.

Local inquiries will have to be made in this case, and I would ask the Deputy to repeat his question in about ten days' time.

asked the Minister for Finance if he will state why the old age pension was refused to Mrs. Catherine Clarke, of Gormanstown, County Meath.

It is necessary to make local inquiries in this case, and I would ask the Deputy to put down the question again in about ten days' time.
