Vol. 21 No. 15

CEISTEANNA—QUESTIONS. ORAL ANSWERS. - CRIMINAL LAW AMENDMENT ACT.

asked the Minister for Justice whether he is aware that on April 28th, 1925, the late Minister, in reply to a question in the Dáil, stated that Bills were then being drafted to amend the Criminal Law Amendment Act; if he will say what is the reason for the delay in submitting these Bills to the Dáil, and whether he is now in a position to give a date for their introduction.

I am aware that heads were drawn up in 1925 for Bills to amend the Criminal Law Amendment Act and for other purposes. Owing, however, to the pressure of other measures of more immediate importance it was not found practicable to have Bills drafted and introduced. I hope to be in a position to introduce a Bill amending the Criminal Law Amendment Act, 1885, early in the coming year.
