Vol. 21 No. 16

CEISTEANNA—QUESTIONS. ORAL ANSWERS. - TIRCONAILL HOMESPUN INDUSTRY.

asked the Minister for Fisheries what steps, if any, have been taken by his Department to revive the homespun industry in Tirconaill.

As mentioned in my reply of 8th instant, to a question by Deputy Miceal McFadden, the appointment of an Inspector of Rural Industries for my Department is in the hands of the Civil Service Commissioners. As soon as the appointment is made the inspector will be sent to Donegal to put into operation a scheme for the revival of the homespun industry. As a matter of fact, I think all that remains for the Civil Service Commissioners to do is to have the medical examination.
