Vol. 21 No. 18

CEISTEANNA—QUESTIONS. ORAL ANSWERS. - DUBLIN LADY'S CLAIM.

asked the Minister for Finance whether he is aware that Mrs. Adelaide A. Repetto-Byrne, in April, 1916, was occupying tenant of the premises at 29 Henry Street, Dublin, under lease for an unexpired term of nineteen years; whether, following the purchase of the freehold by the British Postmaster-General in July, 1918, the granting of a loan of £1,200 under the Dublin Reconstruction (Emergency Purchases) Act, 1916, was opposed by the latter and withheld; and whether in view of these circumstances compensation would not be granted to Mrs. Repetto-Byrne in lieu of the right of financial assistance to rebuild.

The facts are as stated. This case has been considered sympathetically on many occasions from every angle, and I regret that no hope of any compensation to Mrs. Repetto-Byrne can be held out.
