Vol. 22 No. 6

CEISTEANNA—QUESTIONS. ORAL ANSWERS. - LAND DISTRIBUTION AT BALLYMAHON.

asked the Minister for Fisheries if he will take steps to distribute the lands of the late Mr. Shore, Rathmore, Ballymahon, County Longford, to the uneconomic tenants of the district forthwith, so as to enable them to be cultivated this spring, and if he is aware that the lands were taken over by the Land Commission in April, 1927.

The lands referred to were not taken over by the Land Commission in April, 1927. Proceedings under Section 24 of the Land Act, 1923, were instituted for their acquisition and the price has been fixed. They will be distributed and vested in the Land Commission at an early date.

Will the Parliamentary Secretary say at what date these lands will be divided, as I understand the executors are becoming liable for financial liabilities on this farm?

The lands will probably be distributed during the next couple of weeks.
