CEISTEANNA—QUESTIONS. ORAL ANSWERS. - PATENTS IN SAORSTAT.

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce (1) the total number of new provisional and complete patents applied for and granted in the Saorstát since the coming into operation of the Industrial and Commercial Property (Protection) Act, 1927, stating separately applications by Saorstát nationals; (2) the total number of foreign patents which have been registered in the Saorstát since the same date, stating the country of origin; (3) the total number of patents registered under (a) Section 27, and (b) Section 28; and (4) the total revenue received under each of the above heads.

(1) The total numbers of new applications for patents since 1st October, 1927, up to 12th February, 1928, are as follows:—

The reference in the question to the Industrial and Commercial Property (Protection) Act, 1925, should have been to the Act of 1927, in which Section 29 corresponds to Sections 27 and 28 of the Bill introduced in 1925, but subsequently withdrawn.
