No scheme for the establishment of a special course of training for teachers of Continuation Classes could usefully be prepared until an opportunity was given for the consideration of such recommendations as might be made on this subject by the Commission on Technical Education.
These recommendations are now being examined in my Department, and the possibility of affording special training to those teachers of Irish who are considered suitable with a view to their employment under schemes of Continuation Education will not be lost sight of.
In connection with this matter the recommendation contained in paragraph 307 of the Report of the Commission on Technical Education will be kept in mind, as well as that contained in paragraph 315, which relates more directly to the proposals referred to in the Deputy's question.
