Vol. 22 No. 15

CEISTEANNA—QUESTIONS. ORAL ANSWERS. - UNTENANTED LAND PRICES APPEALS.

asked the Minister for Fisheries if he will state the number of appeals which have been lodged by the owners of untenanted lands under the Land Acts of 1923-1927 against the prices fixed by the Irish Land Commission, before Mr. Justice Wylie's Court; and if he will state the names and owners of these estates, the areas and the amount of the increase (if any) which Mr. Justice Wylie granted in each case over and above what the Irish Land Commission estimated as the fair value of the estates.

The number of appeals lodged by the owners of untenanted lands under the Land Acts, 1923-1927, against the prices fixed by the Land Commissioners up to the 15th March is 143. The total price in respect of these appeals amounted as fixed by the Land Commissioners, to £741,415, and as fixed by the Judicial Commissioner on appeal to £787,746, representing an increase of £46,331 in the Commissioners' prices. With regard to the other details asked for, the Deputy will be supplied with a statement.
