CEISTEANNA—QUESTIONS. WRITTEN ANSWERS. - UNECONOMIC HOLDINGS IN CO. TIPPERARY.

asked the Minister for Fisheries if steps will be taken to acquire the Parker-Hutchinson Estate at Timoney, Roscrea, Co. Tipperary, for the purpose of enlarging the uneconomic holdings in that district; and if he will state the number of acres which Mr. Parker-Hutchinson holds at Timoney, at Castlelough, Nenagh, and other places.

Mr. Parker Hutchinson is the owner of 833 acres of the townlands of Castlelough and Castletown, and of 659 acres of Callaun, Timonyhill, Tinderry, all of which are subject to Land Purchase Annuities.

The Land Commission have already acquired from him 440 acres of the lands of Castlelough and Castletown.

An inspector is making inquiries as to the possibility of acquiring other portions of the lands.
