Vol. 23 No. 7

CEISTEANNA—QUESTIONS. ORAL ANSWERS. - OLD AGE PENSION CLAIM (NAAS)

asked the Minister for Local Government and Public Health whether he will state why the pension officer appealed against the decision of the Local Committee to grant an old age pension as from January 13th, 1928, to Mrs. Jane Young, Kilmeague, Naas, County Kildare.

This claim is at present under consideration on appeal on the ground of unsatisfactory evidence of age. Further inquiries are being made, and a decision will be given as soon as possible.

As further inquiries are being made, may I say that although this woman's birth certificate cannot be produced, as it was burned in the Four Courts, she has a son who is 47 years of age and she was 24 years of age when she was married. She is well over the age and I hope these facts will be taken into consideration.
