Vol. 23 No. 7

CEISTEANNA—QUESTIONS. ORAL ANSWERS. - LIFFEY BRIDGE, NEWBRIDGE.

asked the Minister for Local Government and Public Health whether plans, specifications, and estimates of cost have been prepared (as promised) for the work of improving and widening the Liffey Bridge, Newbridge, on the Naas-Kildare trunk road; and whether, in view of the awkward and dangerous approaches from both ends and its narrowness between parapets, he will, in order to make the bridge safe for pedestrian and vehicular traffic in the immediate vicinity of the church and schools, give instructions to have the work begun this summer.

This is a desirable and necessary work the undertaking of which has unfortunately to be postponed until the state of the Road Fund will admit of a grant.

Can the Minister give any indication when that money will be available?
