Vol. 23 No. 7

CEISTEANNA—QUESTIONS. ORAL ANSWERS. - SCHOOL ATTENDANCE IN WEST CORK.

asked the Minister for Education whether he will have inquiries made as to the need for providing suitable conveyances to enable children to attend school regularly in the remote areas in West Cork, in order that grants in aid of such a service may be available for the coming winter.

Provision has already been made for a number of van services in the County Cork. Such provision is made on representations being made by the managers of National Schools that the residences of a number of children of school-going age are not situate within reasonable distance of a National School. Careful consideration will be given to such representations for aid to establish van services in any other districts in the County Cork.
