asked the Minister for Fisheries whether, in view of the acute congestion existing on the O'Connor lease portion of the Lynch-Blosse Estate, Balla, Co. Mayo, he will state if it is the intention of the Land Commission to acquire the lands known as the Poolavaddy Farm, containing about 500 acres, for distribution amongst the uneconomic holders in the area; and, if so, whether he will state when the Land Commission will take definite steps in the matter.

The Land Commission are taking the necessary steps to acquire for relief of congestion part of the lands of Poolavaddy.

Can the Parliamentary Secretary give a specific date as to when the Land Commission will do that?

I cannot.
