asked the Minister for Local Government and Public Health whether he will state why the old age pension has been refused to Miss Mary Dunphy (aged 73 years) and Miss Julia Dunphy (aged 71 years) both of Benvoy, Anniestown, Tramore, Co. Waterford.
CEISTEANNA—QUESTIONS. ORAL ANSWERS. - OLD AGE PENSION CLAIM.
It was determined on appeal on the 2nd December, 1925, and 4th June, 1927, respectively that these claimants were not entitled to pensions. In the first case it was not clear on the evidence submitted that she had attained the statutory age. In the second case it was not clear that her means, as calculated under the Old Age Pensions Acts, were within the statutory limit for the receipt of a pension.
I would like to ask the Minister whether that question could be looked into again, in view of the fact that the first claimant is now the proper age.
The question can only come before me again on appeal, so that if either of the persons feel she has a claim now the claim should be re-made.
