CEISTEANNA—QUESTIONS. ORAL ANSWERS. - RAIDS AND SEARCHES IN TRALEE.

asked the Minister for Justice whether he will state what was the purpose of the raids and searches carried out by the C.I.D. and Gárda on Monday, November 5th, 1928, on sixteen residences in Tralee, as follows:— Mrs. Hanafin, Mrs. Hogan, and Messrs. Con Casey, Gerald Sugrue, Dan Ryan, Jack McCarthy, Michael O'Leary, P. P. Fitzgerald, U.D.C.; Michael McMahon, M.J. Curnane, Patrick Raymond, Jer. Myles, John J. Sheehy, U.D.C.; Mat Moroney, Denis O'Donoghue, and John J. Slattery; also on the residence of Mr. C.W. Daly, Knockane, Firies, on the same date.

The purpose of the searches conducted by the police on November 5th in Kerry was to locate and seize hidden firearms and ammunition.

Would the Minister state whether any firearms, ammunition or camans were discovered in those raids?

Not in these actual houses, but in other houses raided in Kerry there were arms and ammunition found.
