Vol. 27 No. 7

CEISTEANNA—QUESTIONS. ORAL ANSWERS. - DIVISION OF LEIX LANDS.

asked the Minister for Lands and Fisheries whether a division scheme has so far been drawn up for the lands of Maher Bros., Knockanoran, Durrow, Leix, and whether he will state when same is likely to be put into operation.

Proceedings were instituted under the provisions of the Land Act, 1923, for the acquisition of the lands of Knockanoran and Coolnabehy on the estate of Maher Brothers. These lands were published in a Provisional List of lands which, if not excluded in consequence of a valid objection, will become vested in the Land Commission on the appointed day.

A scheme for the division of the lands in this matter has not yet been prepared, and at present the Land Commission are not in a position to state when these lands will be divided.
