asked the Minister for Lands and Fisheries whether he is aware that the acquisition of the lands of Lisavilla, Carrow, Aughrim and Kinnaird, the property of P.J. Fitzmaurice, Esq., Elphin, has been under consideration by the Land Commission for more than a year, and whether he can now state if it is the intention of the Land Commission to acquire these lands, and, if so, when they will be sub-divided.
CEISTEANNA—QUESTIONS. ORAL ANSWERS. - ACQUISITION OF ROSCOMMON RESIDENT'S LANDS.
The lands of Aughrim referred to comprise a holding held by Patrick J. Fitzmaurice as tenant on the estate of B.A. Fox, Counties Westmeath, Roscommon and Cavan, which is the subject of proceedings under the Land Act, 1923. The Commissioners have published this holding in a list of retained holdings.
The lands of Lissanilla and Carrownagleragh and Kinnaird are held by Mr. Fitzmaurice subject to land purchase annuities, and come within the exceptions mentioned in Section 24 of the Land Act, 1923.
