Vol. 28 No. 12

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Raids by Gárda at Gooldscross.

asked the Minister for Justice if the house of James Crowe, Gooldscross, Co. Tipperary, Hon. Treasurer of the Gooldscross Fianna Fáil Cumann, was raided by members of the Gárda Síochána on March 7th; and, if so, why this raid was made; and further, if he will state the number of occasions on which the house of Mr. Crowe was similarly raided during the present year.

The house of James Crowe, Gooldscross, Co. Tipperary, was searched under warrant on the 7th March, 1928. The object of the search was to locate butter stolen on the 6th March in course of transit by rail. The box of butter was tampered with between Cashel and Gooldscross and suspicion rested on Crowe who is a porter at the latter place. This was the only occasion on which the house of James Crowe was searched either in this or in any previous year.
