Vol. 32 No. 13

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Game Rights in Co. Galway.

Tomás Mac Giolla Phóil

asked the Minister for Lands and Fisheries whether the Game rights on the Pollock property, Ballinasloe district, County Galway, belong to the Irish Land Commission, and, if so, whether those rights have been let and to whom.

The untenanted lands on the estate of A. B. Pollock, Co. Galway, vested in the Land Commission on the 1st July, 1926, together with the sporting rights thereon. The sporting rights are let to Mr. J. A. B. Trench to 1st March next.

The tenanted portion of the estate has not yet vested in the Land Commission.

Would the Parliamentary Secretary say whether these rights were advertised in the public press or otherwise before they were let?

Yes. Mr. Trench has only a temporary letting of these rights. The letting expires on the 1st March next.
