Vol. 32 No. 14

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral—Answers. - Reclamation Schemes in Donegal.

asked the Minister for Lands and Fisheries if he will give details of any schemes of land reclamation recently carried out in County Donegal; whether such schemes have proved generally successful; and what further works of this character it is proposed to initiate in the near future.

Reclamation work has been undertaken on the Rose O'Donnell estate, near Dungloe, involving drainage, cropping, lime-burning, the erection of a specimen dwellinghouse and out-offices and the planting of a shelter-belt. The experimental cropping has given satisfactory results. Following inquiries which have been made other reclamation work will be undertaken.
