asked the Minister for Agriculture if he will state what has been the cost to the Exchequer of the Live Stock Breeding Act, 1925, since it came into operation.

The approximate expenditure in connection with the administration of the Live Stock Breeding Act, 1925, since it came into operation, including salaries and wages of the clerical and inspectorial staff, travelling and subsistence allowances, fees and travel ling expenses of Referees, advertising and publicity, etc., expenses of Consultative Council, etc., has been £37,000. The receipts under the Act during the same period have been approximately £21,000, leaving a net expenditure of £16,000.
