Vol. 33 No. 7

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Beenativane Bog (Co. Kerry).

asked the Minister for Lands and Fisheries if he is aware that in September, 1929, the plots of turbary in the Beenativane Bog, Currow, Co. Kerry, were marked off and the divisions duly pointed out to the tenants; that as yet no attempt has been made to construct the bog passages, and if the Minister will now give an assurance that these passages will be constructed before the coming turf season sets in.

Regulations under the provisions of Section 21 of the Irish Land Act, 1903, and Section 42 of the Land Act, 1923, have been made by the Land Commission in respect of the bog referred to by the Deputy, which is situated on the estate of J. H. Cronin, Co. Kerry. Record No. E.C. 4814. The question of the construction of passages to give access to the turbary plots is at present being considered by the Land Commission, who will endeavour to have them provided in time for next season's turf cutting.
