Written Answers. - Congestion in Co. Mayo.

asked the Minister for Lands and Fisheries whether he is aware that acute congestion exists on the Blake and Ffrench Estates, in the townlands of Kilnock and Tavanagh, where there are over 40 tenants under £5 poor law valuation each, and if he will state what steps are being taken by the Irish Land Commission to acquire Cuillane farm on the Rush Estate for the relief of existing congestion.

The Land Commission are aware of the congestion existing in the townlands of Kilnock and Tavanagh, and in connection therewith have had further inquiry made regarding the lands of Cuillaun, the property of Mrs. Ffrench. The report of their inspector is at present under consideration.
