Vol. 36 No. 9

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Occupants of Labourers' Cottages.

asked the Minister for Local Government and Public Health if he is aware of the difficulties of proving cases in court against non-occupants of labourers' cottages, and, if so, will he send inspectors of his Department to pay surprise visits to those houses, lists of which could be supplied to his Department by Boards of Health.

There should not be any difficulty in this matter if the rent collectors are efficient. The Department's Inspectors cannot be made available in the manner suggested. The Deputy's complaint has, however, been noted.
