Vol. 37 No. 12

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Twamley (Co. Wicklow) Estate.

asked the Minister for Lands and Fisheries if he will state the present position regarding the proposed acquisition by the Land Commission of a farm on the Twamley Estate, Rathcoole, near Grange Con, Co. Wicklow, owned by Robert Hegarty; and the land on the same estate still in the possession of Mrs. Twamley; and whether it is intended to use, if necessary, the compulsory powers of the Land Commission in both cases.

Mrs. Twamley has accepted the Land Commission offer for the purchase of her lands at Rathcoole. The offer made to Robert Hegarty for the purchase of the lands held by him has not yet been accepted and the question of the compulsory acquisition of the latter will be considered in the event of the offer being refused.
