asked the Minister for Finance whether he will state the amount of the Dáil Loan, 1919-20, applications from County Leix for repayment, which remain unpaid to date; and whether he is aware that many subscribers are very dissatisfied at delay in repayment, and are pressing to have their particular cases receive immediate attention.

The form in which the records in my Department are kept is such that the investigation which would be necessary to enable me to furnish the information asked for by the Deputy in the first part of the question would entail an amount of labour on the part of the staff, which would not in my opinion be justified. I may add, however, that only a very small proportion of the moneys received from County Leix in the Dáil Department of Finance remains unpaid.
The claim of every subscriber who applied within the prescribed period will be dealt with as expeditiously as possible.
