Vol. 46 No. 10

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Rural Industry Scheme in Eyries.

asked the Minister for Lands and Fisheries if he can state when the scheme of Rural Industry for which all the preliminary arrangements have been settled, will be put into operation in Eyries in the Beara Peninsula.

This Department has had under consideration for some time the possibility of establishing a circular machine industry at Eyries in the Beara Peninsula. Progress was delayed owing to scarcity of teachers. Several girls are in course of training and when proficient one of them will be sent to take charge.

Could the Parliamentary Secretary give us any definite time within which the arrangements will be completed, because I understand that these arrangements have been hanging fire for a very considerable time? Has the Parliamentary Secretary any idea when it will be possible to send a teacher?

Within three months.
