Vol. 48 No. 5

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Armed Parade in West Cork.

asked the Minister for Justice if he is now in a position to give a fuller reply based on the police reports, which he said were being made concerning the armed parade which took place at Ballinacarriga (West Cork) on the 28th May last, and if he can say if any further armed intimidatory activity has been reported since the question was last raised.

I have received further police reports in this matter. From these it would appear that a party of approximately 60 armed men assembled at Ballinacarriga on the 27th and 28th May, 1933. No reports of any further armed intimidatory activity have been received since the question was last raised.

The Minister will recollect that arising out of the answer to my original question I said that the men were armed with new arms. Has the Minister learned how these new arms were imported into the country?

I have no information as to how these new arms got into the country.

Does the Minister say that there were no arms at all there?

No. There were arms there but I have no information as to how they got into the country.
