asked the Minister for Lands whether it is proposed to acquire the lands known as the Reid Estate, Tara, County Meath, and, if so, if he will state how soon they will be available for distribution.

The lands referred to by the Deputy would appear to be those of which Joseph Reid was returned as tenant under the provisions of the Land Act, 1923, comprising 301 acres in the townland of Philpotstown on the Estate of Captain Taylor, S1665, and 83 acres in the townland of Castletown, Tara, on the estate of S. Jones and another, S773. The Land Commission had an inspection of all these lands carried out with a view to possible resumption. On consideration they decided not to apply for resumption of any of the holdings, on which four brothers and two sisters were then (1931) residing.
