I am aware that the price for sugar crystals is higher in the Saorstát than in Belfast, and the figures given by the Deputy are probably substantially correct for sugar bought in small lots by retailers. The factors responsible for the difference in price were discussed at length, while the Sugar Manufacture Act, 1933, was in course of enactment.
