asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs if he will state (1) how many appointments were made to the position of full-time, established potmen between March, 1932, and March, 1935; (2) how many persons so appointed were boy messengers or had previous connection with the postal service; (3) how many were appointed without any previous connection with the postal service and on what grounds were these latter appointments made.

The particulars asked for by the Deputy are as follows:—
(1) 173 persons were appointed full-time established postmen during the period mentioned. (2) Each person so appointed was either a boy-messenger or had previous connection with the postal service. (3) None.
