I move:—
That it is expedient to authorise the payment out of moneys provided by the Oireachtas of any expenses incurred by the Minister for Agriculture pursuant to the provisions of any Act of the present session to amend the Diseases of Animals (Ireland) Acts, 1894 to 1934, in relation to the Slaughter of Animals affected with disease, and to make provision for other matters connected with the matters aforesaid.
I was asked, I think, on the Second Reading Stage of this Bill, what the likely expenditure would be under the Bill for the remainder of the year. It is not expected that this Bill will be operative until some time in the autumn and, therefore, for only about half the year and in three or four counties at most. The total expenditure for that period is calculated to be somewhere between £7,000 and £8,000 for this year. At any rate I think a Supplementary Estimate would be necessary.
